One of the most astounding attractions of Thailand is Krabi. Krabi is located at a distance of 814 kilometers from Bangkok along the highway number 4. Krabi is situated on the coastline of the Indian Ocean. Bordering it on one side is Amphoe Phra Saeng of Surat Thani and Tah Put of Phangnga to the north, Trang and Andaman Sea to the south, Nakhon Si Thammarat and Trang to the east and Phangnga and Andaman Sea to the west. It occpies a distance of about 4708 square kilometers. There are various islands which one can visit around Krabi. Among them one is the Mu Koh Hong Island comprising of various big and small islands. This is also known as a limestone island comprising of a beach and coral reefs with deep shallow water. Like this island there are pre historic paintings on the cliffs and cave walls of many other islands among which one is the Tham Chao Le Island.

Beauty of Tham Chao Le

The Tham Chao Le is a beautiful island in the Krabi province which has beautiful caves. These caves are adorned with stalactites and stalagmites. Various pre historic cave paintings are also found here. These paintings mostly depict animals, people and various geometric shapes. The paintings found in the Tham Chao Le are assumed to have been painted after those of Tham Phi Hua To. Tham Phi Hua To is just 500 meters from Tham Lot. This cave can be visited by a boat. There are two different paths inside the cave in which the left path is supposed to be the shortcut towards the cave where the sunlight shines through and the right path leads to natural hall which is believed to be a shelter for the prehistoric people. The Tham Chao Le cave is located towards the west of Laem Sak in a bay beautifully surrounded by mountains and exotic islands. The Than Chao Le cave is surrounded by limestone mountains. This cave can be visited by tourists by boats which are regularly scheduled to this cave from Sapan Pla of Fishing Pier at Laem Sak Cape. This journey takes a total time of about 15 minutes. Tham Chao Le is a major attraction of the Than Bok Khorani National Park. Thus Than Chao Le cave in the Ao Luek District enhances the beauty of Krabi and attracts a large number of tourists visiting Thailand.
