Batik is today an important Krabi handicraft

The art of batik is basically Malaysian, and was introduced to Krabi through a government scheme to encourage and support handicrafts. Batik art is found as Krabi handicrafts through sea-themed designs on sarongs, wall hangings and shirts. The other Krabi handicrafts worth mention of, and buying are those made from local products like dried 'pineapple paper' used for making boxes and notebooks and highly polished coconut shell artifacts like model boats, hair pins and wine glasses. If you are interested, there are many workshops to visit to see these Krabi handicrafts being made.

Make sure you bargain when buying your Krabi handicraft

You can find many shops around Ao Nang beach selling Krabi handicrafts. These Krabi handicrafts are unique, charming, reasonably rated and excellent for creating souvenirs and gifts. When buying your Krabi handicraft, remember that you will have to do some bargaining before buying it. Local salesmen take advantage of tourists and usually quote high prices for their Krabi handicrafts. So do some research by comparing prices, and only after you get an idea of the actual value of the Krabi handicraft should you consider buying your souvenir to take back home.

The Thai massage can also be considered to be a Krabi handicraft that may not be taken home as a souvenir. It is only its experience that can be carried home for memories. There are many massage shops around Krabi offering Thai massage by professional masseurs. This Krabi handicraft is the best option to relax your body after a day full of hectic activities.
