This pier is a new one as the old one Chao-Fa Pier in Krabi Town, is no longer in use. For getting to Koh Lanta Yai Island from Krabi during these months, boats are available twice daily from the new pier, which is located at a distance of 5 kilometers from the Krabi town. The arrival is at Saladan, which is located on the northern part of the Koh Lanta Yai Island. Time taken for getting to Koh Lanta Yai Island from Krabi is usually 2 hours. Free transport services to the respective resorts are available from Saladan.

However, if you are visiting Koh Lanta Yai Island during the months of May till October, then the only way of getting to Koh Lanta Yai Island from Krabi is by hiring a minivan. The sea conditions being rough this monsoon time, a boat ride is not advisable for getting to Koh Lanta Yai Island from Krabi. The minivans can be booked from the respective booking station which is situated inside a tour office. The tour office is placed nearby the Vogue Department Store which is situated in the bustling downtown Krabi area.
